Let’s get the spooky season started!
Hey bookworms!
Are you excited for Halloween this year? I’ve started putting up my decorations with plans to craft a few more this month! I haven’t started watching any Halloween movies yet though, so if you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them! 🎃
To get the spooky season started, I’m offering my standalone Snow White fairy tale retelling, The Hushing, entirely FREE for a limited time only from September 15th through September 19th
So, mark your calendars, grab your copy, and feel free to share with your friends!
Bloody Barrens #2 Excerpt
While I’m aiming to release Reaper Rites in September (fingers crossed!), I thought you might like a peek behind the scenes at an excerpt to see what trouble our brave adventurers have gotten themselves into!
Marlowe
The rope binding my hands in front of me was so tight, I couldn’t feel my fingers anymore. My wrists were bleeding, chafed raw by the coarse fiber. Ahead of me were four Reapers on horseback, moving at a steady pace despite the blazing sun overhead. More Reapers on foot flanked me at either side and behind, creating a barrier of well-armored bodies.
My rope was tied to the saddle of a Reaper in front of me. He was lean with wiry muscle, suggesting he relied on speed and agility in a fight rather than brute strength. When he glanced back over his shoulder, his mouth was a thin slash etched into the glaring white of his face paint.
I lifted my tied hands and gave a little wave, even though my fingers were stiff and barely moved. The Reaper scowled and bared his teeth before facing forward again.
My leg throbbed with every step from that damned arrow wound. I hoped the stitches would hold despite whatever hell the Reapers were going to put me through. I should have given myself more time to heal. I should have stayed at Fort Davis, no matter how much I didn’t want to live under the same roof as Oliver. Enduring that awkwardness would have been better than getting kidnapped by Reapers.
If I had stayed at the Fort, none of this would have happened. I wouldn’t be here. And Brody…
I clenched my teeth as my eyes started to water. God, I hoped Brody was okay.
If you haven’t done so already, there’s still time to preorder your copy of Reaper Rites at the link below! Get it delivered straight to your kindle on release day and start binge those zombie adventures while you work on your zombie costume for Halloween!
